The Type BW BeamClamp is specifically designed with a 10 degree slopping nose. This allows the clamp to be used with S beams and C channels. The BW BeamClamp is available in two tail length – 1 & 2. The combination of the tail length and the thickness of appropriate packings BF1, BG1, & BH1 should be equivalent to the flange thickness being connected. See the tail length / packing table for appropriate combinations.
BeamClamp® Types BT (recessed top) and BW (flat top) are built with a 10‑degree angled nose, allowing them to grip tapered steel sections effectively. The BT model incorporates a recessed top that secures the head of a Grade 5 setscrew or bolt, while the BW version uses a flat top so a nut and washer can be tightened directly against it.
Both BT and BW clamps may also be used individually when one of the steel components has been pre‑drilled. Each clamp is offered in two tail lengths to suit different steel thicknesses. Packing pieces BF1, BG1, and BH1 can be combined with the chosen tail length to achieve proper alignment with the steel flange.
